FIRE RETARDANT SPRAY COATING

     Fabric Safe is a spray on fire retardant fabric coating for: drapes, theater curtains, upholstery, mattresses, clothing, carpets, wall coverings, aircraft interior fabrics, and leather. Fabric Safe fire rated fire retardant fabric coating is quick and easy to apply. It inhibits the ignition of the fire treated material when exposed to flame or fire. Fabric Safe is a flame retardant fabric coating that is water-based, clear, odorless and non-toxic.
Statistics show that fires started on upholstered furniture was the leading cause of residential fire deaths. The National Association of State Fire Marshals recommends that all fabrics and textiles be rendered fire proof by the use of fire and flame retardants.

Although it is not possible to make combustible fabrics and furnishings completely resistant to charring and decomposition when exposed to flame, use of a fire retardant fabric coating will give a degree of flame resistance. In places of public assembly such as theaters, restaurants, hotels, and bars, combustible textiles are commonly regulated by law.

Flame Retardant Fabric Spray Coating

The coverage rate of Flame Safe's flame retardant fabric coatings is 300 to 500 square feet per gallon depending on the type and weight of the material being treated. Fabric Safe, in most instances is applied with a mist applicator (spray until damp - let dry). A sponge can be an effective method of applying the fire retardant on wallpaper and wall coverings. All treated textiles/fabrics lose some of their fire retardant qualities after deep cleaning, therefore re-treatment with Fabric Safe fire retardant is necessary to achieve maximum results. Pile or high tufted carpet in particular, is suitable for treatment immediately after cleaning. Be sure all materials are dry before applying Fabric Safe fire retardant fabric coatings.
